Kate has been working in Recruitment since 1994 and in 1997 Kate saw a gap in the market and established Kinetic Recruitment in Wellington because she felt an innovative, forward thinking approach was missing. The success in Wellington enabled her to replicate a high-quality recruitment and career management service in the Auckland market.
Ten years down the track and Kate developed and helped in the design of the Swivel Careers programme. After seeing a vast amount students come to her agency looking for jobs with absolutely no direction she decided it was time to get our future leaders up to scratch and looking for jobs they were passionate about.
She is proud to offer a tailor-made, quality service that allows our young people to choose their own direction in life.
Pip’s life mission is to leave the world a better place for having been in it. After helping Kiwis become healthier and more environmentally-aware during her tenure with Healthy Life Media, moving into the youth space was a natural next step.
Having coached her own daughter through the tumultuous teenage years, and participating in the YWCA 4-year Future Leaders programme with Year 10-13’s, she understands the many struggles and pressures teenagers face.
Dismayed by the growing levels of anxiety, stress and suicide in our youth, she is passionate about helping them understand and believe in themselves, while being empathetic, respectful and kind to others.
Pip is incredibly proud of the programme Swivel Careers delivers, and as an accredited Swivel Careers Coach, she both leads the Swivel team as General Manager and works 1:1 with students to empower them to find career paths that suit their personality, passions and skill.
Our Relationship Manager Nicky is someone who has always had an interest in people and communication. From an early age, she only ever wanted to be a broadcaster and has more than fulfilled that goal with an award-winning 30-year career in radio.
As well as broadcasting, Nicky has also been a columnist for newspapers and magazines, a motivational speaker and an MC. Prior to coming to Swivel, she spent four years running her own national marketing and events company helping fine-tune businesses and their messages to the market. Nicky is passionate about effective communication, creativity and encouraging people to project their best self to the world.
Spending seven years as Assistant Manager/Matron in the boarding house environment, Nicky has both the knowledge and understanding of pastoral care and the unique benefits and pressures this puts on students and their parents.
We have an incredibly high education standard in New Zealand. As the Relationship Manager for Swivel, Nicky is really excited to be working with our schools and students to ensure that the young people who complete our programme are not just ready to take on the world, but to conquer it.

Peta has been part of the team at Kinetic since 2007 after graduating from AUT University with a Bachelor of Business majoring in Human Resources. After working on the frontline of recruitment, Peta knew the fast-paced nature of recruitment was for her. She has worked on Swivel since its inception, ensuring infrastructure, processes and procedures are aligned to enable the programme is available for students throughout New Zealand.
As someone who was lucky enough to know what she wanted to do at University, the most rewarding part of the Swivel programme for Peta is seeing students come to the point where they know their future direction and they’re excited about it.
